Posted on May 1, 2012 I think it would be helpful to be able to shutter a building for a period of time. For example, if there is a glut of steel, for example, you can put your steel factory in mothballs - for a price of course. You would have reduced maintenance costs and not have to pay salaries. However you cannot use the building to produce anything obviously, and when you want to restart production, you would have to wait as the factory gears back up (could be implemented how you wait for a building to upgrade, or could pay $$ to rush it). If you think about, in the real world, especially with large capital investments like steel mills or factories, if demand crashes, the company is not going to just dismantle everything, or keep producing product and paying employees and material bills. If they see a long term reduction in demand, they will temporarily close plants down. (See auto industry recently). What do you guys think? |
