Posted on Feb 10, 2012 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stock_split now please explain to me how a stock split is bad for investors? it doubles their stock, lowers the price of outstanding shares and allows for more growth faster.... example, if back about 17 years ago I had bought 1800 shares of wal-mart stock, after the splits I would now be extremely rich.....if i hadn't sold any shares.... |

Posted on Feb 10, 2012 (Last edited on Feb 10, 2012) I don't mean to say it's bad, but a 2-for-1 split makes 1000 shares of $2 stocks into 2000 shares of $1 stocks - no instant millionaires.

Posted on Feb 12, 2012 see at the now $50+ stock price i have a split would allow more investors to invest, although I think I maybe would want to wait until it's 100, 150.....
