Posted on Apr 3, 2012 We need stuff besides rum! I'm thinking whiskey. Maybe Vodka, give them potatoes more use.

Posted on Apr 3, 2012 Whiskey from barley; add juniper as a crop and gin could be vodka + juniper; scotch could be whiskey that just takes forever to make. Add agave as a crop and distill tequila from that. Maybe port as a more sugar-hungry variant on the wine recipe. Sake from rice; bourbon from corn. Kahlua from coffee beans! Maybe even Jagermeister from licorice and juniper. (And then you can manufacture Jager machines, and people can buy them, and then no one will use them because, yech, c'mon.)At that point you've got something resembling a basic bar shelf. Come up with a few derived cocktails as well, like we've got pina coladas from rum. At that point, there's an argument to be made for a new store type like Pub or Tavern, selling all the straight boozes and the mixed drinks along with greasy prepared foods. |
