Posted on Feb 26, 2012 I really really really don't want to make the supermarket more crowded than it already is, but we have a reasonable request for meat products and as you all know, I've never left a reasonable request out in the cold.So... does anyone have an idea on what we can do with the meat? Or maybe, just maybe, should we make a "lite" version of supermarket called Farmers Market just for selling Fruits, Veggies, and Meats? (and for balance I'll lower the cost of the new building, and raise the cost of the supermarket) |

Posted on Feb 27, 2012 How about a meat market? You can make a factory called "Slaughterhouse" and process the different animals into different meats. "Pork Sausage", "Filet Mignon", "Chicken Thighs", "Whole Chicken", etc. You can probably get a solid twenty things out of the 3 or 4 animals you have in the game. Also, things like bacon and sausage take salt and spices and other products producible elsewhere. "Honey Glazed Ham" is a good one. Takes honey and plastics (for the wrapping) and pig.

Posted on Feb 27, 2012 (Last edited on Feb 27, 2012) Hear, hear! I agree the supermarket is a little crowded ... IMHO you could lose the snacks or food ingredients. Some sort of meat processing factory would be mandatory of course. Maybe two - "slaughterhouse" (pork chops, cutlets, steak, ground beef, chicken parts) and "butcher" (sausage, cold cuts, burgers, bacon, jerky?). Crossover products could also work (pizza!). Maybe a deli too? Or are we getting too elaborate? |

Posted on Feb 28, 2012 IMO some meat products should be sold in the supermarket, it is afterall a supermarket. more specialised meat etc might need a butcher shop or similar. There are some things like wheat and barley that doesn#t really belong there though. |

Posted on Mar 12, 2012 (Last edited on Mar 12, 2012) I'm working on meat products today, and remember I mentioned it'll be a simple task just putting in the items and using the temporary "?" for icons?WRONG The first tier is easy: Cattle -> steak, roast, ... Chicken -> chicken breast, chicken wing, ... Pig -> pork, ... Then the 2nd tier: Chicken drumsticks -> fried drumsticks Problem: We're missing cooking oil. Canola oil? corn oil? olive oil? vegetable oil? Pork -> salami Even worse, can you believe it? We don't have salt and pepper! Again there are multiple ways to obtain each. This won't be as easy as I have anticipated, but I'll try to simplify things by linking them to the existing buildings and products. After all this is only part of the game. (Also from what I currently have, it looks like a lot of things will be requiring salt - and thus a mine) |

Posted on Mar 13, 2012 On that note, Valley Prospectors Co. will soon be producing salt, we apologize in advance for any rise in obesity this may cause. |

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 (Last edited on Mar 15, 2012) Well you already have grapes, corn, and peanuts so you have three oils right there grapeseed oil, corn oil, and peanut oil. So you really need more?

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 To David:No... I want them to connect to new and existing products, and hopefully keep the buildings somewhat balanced. Since I don't want the game to become bloated, what will most likely happen is probably just cooking oil made in different ways. |

Posted on Mar 15, 2012 (Last edited on Mar 15, 2012) To MisterDeathNo there is rapeseed oil and grapeseed oil. Grapeseed oil is a vegetable oil pressed from the seeds of a various versions of the Vitis vinifera grape. An abundant by product of wine production. Though easy to confuse not the same thing. Feel free to search for it on amazon. Sorry if that sounds rude. Take cooking supplies serious. I love to cook with new and interesting ingredient including things like Rice Bran Oil which i saw in the store the other day. To Scott Well okay the reason i was asking is because I noticed beverage factories makes wine. I was thinking maybe you could have a vineyard that produced grapeseed oil, wine, yeast and champagne. Food processing could make corn and peanut oil. maybe make a distillery or something that makes only alcoholic beverages and yeast. I don't know, up to you, I just like tossing out a few ideas for this great game. There are so many ways to go that could make this game super bloated so i understand your concern about that. |

Posted on Mar 16, 2012 (Last edited on Mar 17, 2012) Well said. I'll see what I can do :-)Update: I'm so glad the factories are not category-based, so I can customize what each produce. After giving it a bit of thought I have decided to add the Vineyard. Vineyard - Wine, Grapes, Grape Juice, Raisins. Fruit plantation will still have the option to produce grapes, but beverage plant will no longer be able to produce wine. |
