Posted on May 10, 2013 First, kudos on the company coloration, Scott... it's one of those ways that we can make our companies feel different and personal that I appreciate! Now that it's in, however, since the graphs appear to still be using a neutral grey for the percentages on the pie charts, they can blend badly depending on the company color choice. Is your charting library customizable enough that you can have the text color vary depending on the pie slice color to ensure high contrast? I'm pretty sure someone has already written a quick "look at background color and determine whether to use white or black text" algorithm on stackoverflow. :-) |

Posted on May 10, 2013 It's actually a W3C recommendation:http://www.w3.org/TR/UNDERSTANDING-WCAG20/visual-audio-contrast-contrast.html and they've published the algorithm to calculate luminence from RGB: http://www.w3.org/TR/2008/REC-WCAG20-20081211/#relativeluminancedef |
