Posted on May 13, 2013 it would make us easier to see the amount we have manually typed if there is automatic insertion of comma.. i ACCIDENTALLY purchased in the B2B 1,000,000 units of steel, instead of 100,000 units. haha

Posted on May 13, 2013 (maybe this is weird but whatever) Mentally, when I type large numbers, I count by 3's. For example if I type 100,000 I think of it as "100 with 3 zero's" so I'll type 100 and then 000 so I always make sure I'm in the right range. Basically I count it out this way --- With positive numbers, the decimal place (or # of commas) changes by 3's, for example (100) -100- (1,000) 1-000 (10,000) 10-000 (100,000) 100-000 (1,000,000) 1-000-000 (100,000,000) 100-000-000 And that is how I type it, by sections of 3s, which I count in my head as I go, so I will never add an extra 0 or an extra set of 0's. For anything over 1,000,000 I use the e6 feature thing.(I failed math every year in highschool) It converts a number into millions. For example if I buy 125,000,000 electricity, rather than type out 125000000 I just type 125e6 and it automatically fills in 125000000. Or if I buy 1,250,000 plastic bottles I just type 1.25e6 instead of 1250000. That only works in this game though, obviously. |

Posted on May 14, 2013 Actually before I tried and found it to work, I never knew scientific notation would work either. Turns out the modern day javascript engine is... interesting.
