Posted on Apr 18, 2012 yeah! I gained about a third of my net worth in cash / wiped out loans. And I enjoyed fondly remembering some of my own time in the foggy past hacking live sql on (marketing) game sites. The craziest one was a game that was structured so that it's up to 200K unique visitor / hour all came in the last 5-10 minutes of each hour. It consumed two and a half 4-processor solaris servers until we finally figured out that I'd left in a log statement that was doing a query that resulted in a full table scan on the users table. |

Posted on Apr 19, 2012 I noticed that executive compensation didn't go out even for those of my companies that were significantly up for the day on earnings, but given that there was a great big pile of DictatorBucks responsible for flush coffers that's probably actually the right way to go with it.
