Screen layout problem at 1024*768 resolution

And sometimes have to manage with a 1024768 wide screen. Which has a problem when showing a page where you have a floating div at the side. (Factory/Research screen) The div is just outside to the right of the screen. Forcing you to scroll to the right whenever you want to check it for progress. Would it be possible to make it so that it fits on one page and you do not have to scroll to the right?
