Posted on Apr 26, 2012 So while we wait for GENERAL research queues, a good stop-gap would be a slider allowing us to research many levels of a single technology all at once, especially with the recent drops in research times for entry-level research, which makes the first N levels of research a real chore as we wait around for 2-3 minutes to press the go button again...There are a couple of implementation choices: Option 1) Give research levels out as they're achieved, recalculating time and cost of research at each level completed. (This sounds a bit trickier to implement.) 2) As with construction, give no benefit until the whole research programme is finished, with all time and cash costs calculated at the outset. This has the benefit of being easier to implement, and could also include a (wait for it) Economy of Scale bonus, if desired. This would reflect specialization of the researchers working on the project. |
