Posted on May 9, 2012 I am a bit confused with the new water types. Shouldn't all quality 0 water be "water" and all the >0 water be "water (filtered)"?The reason I ask is because I'm seeing a lot of quality 0 described as "filtered", as well as regular "water" with quality >0. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense. |

Posted on May 9, 2012 I think that water that was being pumped up while the change was implemented came out as q0 filtered water

Posted on May 9, 2012 Actually, I had water on the B2B when the change went through and it stayed at quality 0, but changed names to "filtered". I'm not suggesting to know or understand why some water changed when it shouldn't have and why some didn't when it should, just that it seems to be the case that such occurred. Thought I'd bring it up because I normally have nothing to contribute. It seems like something that could be easily homogenized by quality level, perhaps.

Posted on May 9, 2012 mine did that as well, and as the prices for normal water as much as $0.06 more than filtered water i stand to lose a large sum of cash. |

Posted on May 9, 2012 Thanks. It was intentional to achieve the following 2 effects:1. Players don't get hurt from the unannounced change. (So they always get the greater valued goods) 2. Prevent duplication in your warehouse. How the database works is if I set all your Q17 raw water as Q0 raw water, and you already had Q0 raw water, that's cause 2 entries, and a much longer OR more complicated script will be needed to combine those up. Since new > Q0 raw water cannot be generated and new Q0 filtered water can ALWAYS be generated, I didn't see it as a problem. |

Posted on May 9, 2012 My thinking was that regular water is only from a well and always q0 and that filtered water comes only from a beverage factory and is always q>0. I thought one might be able to search and convert only the q>0 water to the new filtered type, leaving the rest as regular water. But I am no dba.Is this a good place to ask for q>0 electricity? We could have an electron refinery factory that sorts the electrons by spin, and can thus provide properly coherent energy to our new breed of imaginary space-devices. "Electricity (Filtered)". I'll start doing the pixelwork on the new Space Store, proactively. |

Posted on May 9, 2012 Sure, I'll convert some of your electricity to filtered ones :-)and remember the "water duplication" is a bonus from the change, so feel free to discard it if you have no use for it. |

Posted on May 9, 2012 One effect of the change is that growers no longer need to buy expensive filtered water. That's going to significantly reduce the demand for filtered water - I bet the companies focused on providing high quality water are pretty bummed right now.All in all I think it's a good change though. Needing to get filtered water for your crops seemed kind of silly to me anyway. |

Posted on May 9, 2012 I have several hundred million units of water on http://www.ratjoy.com/eos/firm/5305 that is Q0 but its marked as filtered, and it's useless to me now.

Posted on May 9, 2012 Yeah all the water I pumped last night turned filtered and so now I can't use it for my factories. Not a huge deal but useless to me and probably worthless as well since its q0.

Posted on May 9, 2012 I had 200 million water that WASN'T cloned, because it was queued for filtration. It was intended mostly for use in plantations. The change left me with no water for plantations. I let them expand for 12 hours, but the b2b price of Unfiltered water is still greatly inflated after 12 hours. Who knows how long it will take to equalize. So now I have way, way more filtered water than I need (enough for weeks), and no water to plant with unless I buy it at much higher prices than normal. To then produce crops that are 8-15% less valuable than they were yesterday, because agricultural research levels were all 20-30 levels lower than my water research level (which was good strategy for how the game was prior to the change)I'm not sure it was fair to only clone unqueued water, basically benefiting anyone who didn't plan ahead and hurting those who did. Addition: also milk production. |

Posted on May 10, 2012 I'm having the same issue as Matt Magnum, and it's particularly annoying with my new (and still very small) beverage company. I've now got a whole bunch of completely worthless Q0 water that I can't use to grow my barley.
